Story Overview:
Welcome to Vegas. Home of the Sin City Collectors. The job description is easy: Bring the offending supernatural in to the Boss and don’t ask any questions.

Ginger Elliot is a succubus on the run. She’s in danger of being Collected, but her first priority is to find her brother. Even though she operates the biggest spy network in the supernatural world, it may not be enough to free her from the crimes she’s been accused of committing. It doesn’t help that she hasn’t fed in months, and keeping her deteriorating condition from the sexy shifter who’s accompanying her is getting trickier by the hour.

Luke Jones is on a mission to save the succubus he’s fallen for—not only from her brother—but from herself. The two have been on the incubus’s trail for weeks and finally have him backed into a corner. Luke knows the succubus is in trouble, but he has no idea how to help her. In the end, letting go of his painful past is the only way he can save her.

What’s Collected in Vegas, stays in Vegas...

My Review:
I really liked the set-up for this installment of the series. Ginger is a succubus who hasn't fed for 6 months. In all reality, she's starving to death, which makes her ability to pull energy a little more uncontrollable than normal. She's teamed up with Luke, a wolf shifter, to try and locate her brother for the Sin City Collectors. His entire life, Luke has hated succubi and incubi, but after working with Ginger for over a month, he realizes how wrong he was in those feelings. He also is coming to realize how bad off Ginger is physically because she refuses to feed off him in any way.

The sexual tension and pure need in this book is through the charts and really makes the entire book. I loved the first half because of that tension. The second half is good too, but somehow it just fell a little short of the emotional possibilities that were in the story for me. There is a lot of action and drama in the second half that was great, but it didn't hit me as emotionally deep like I hoped.

But I do really like the two of them together. Not only is Ginger starving, but there is a connection between the two that's unusual. I really liked that aspect of the story too. Was it because Luke was a shifter or because of fate? I like to think it's a fate thing.

Ginger is a sensual being and I love how she exposed Luke to that aspect of her race. I wish there had been a bit more of an exchange in that style because we really didn't get to see much of Luke and his natural instincts as a wolf shifter. But speaking of the whole shifter aspect, I also really liked Raoul who is Ginger's right hand man...(and can I just say that I love how she has built her own company to be such a success.) Luke's comments about Raoul and the fact that he's a feline shifter were really fun.

This is a book from an ongoing series about basically paranormal bounty hunters. The entire series has been phenomenal (it's written by several different authors) and this book sets up for another by Amanda Carlson featuring Raoul, I'm pretty sure. I'm definitely looking forward to that one!

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
