Story Overview:
With his fauxhawk, sleeve tattoos, and visible piercings, Ridley Corbin has the whole bad ass vibe going on in spades. The image serves him well as the self-proclaimed protector of the underdog, and he wants nothing more than to be Alex Firestone's hero.

Alex, a mild-mannered library assistant, has moved to Slater, a quiet college town, hoping to hide from his past. He keeps to himself, but that doesn't save him from catching the unwanted attention of the campus bully. But not all is as it seems. Alex's past comes calling, and it's time he becomes top dog.

My Review:
Wow, I did not see where this story was going, but I liked it. That little twist took this story up a notch or two in how much I enjoyed it. And now for the challenge, writing the review without giving anything away...yikes.

Ridley is a 23 year old who's been crushing on the assistant librarian at college for months. As a former little kid who was bullied all through school, he sees his opportunity to make an impression on Alex when he finds out that Alex is getting bullied. He doesn't believe Alex when he tells him that it's fine...he can take care of himself. But it opens a dialogue and leads to one really hot, sexy night together.

OMG, the sex scenes between Alex and Ridley are HOT. Ridley is the one who looks all BAMF (bad.a**.mother.f****r) but it really is Alex who is the take charge and domineering type...in a BIG way. And Ridley is surprised to find how much he really likes that too...like he's never seen the same guy twice, but he wants that with Alex for the first time ever. But in a wonderful twist, Alex doesn't "seem" interested...until something earth-shattering happens.

Sigh...I did enjoy this one. I liked how neither one of the guys never expected the relationship to happen until it was already a thing between them. They both just thought they were having really hot sex...until surprise...whoa, there are emotions involved here? I loved how that fact snuck up on both of them. And the last half of the book was amazing! Love, love, love!

I know this is a short review, but I seriously don't want to spoil anything. Just know, this story worked for me really well!
