Australian Gareth Marshall needs to come out. A lifetime of hiding his orientation from his best friend and volleyball partner, Edge, as well as everyone else around him, has left him hurt and frustrated. When Gareth gets a load of David posing nude as the Michelangelo statue in the famous Laguna Pageant, he knows his days in the closet are numbered. And David is more than willing to help him take the first step out of the dark.

But Gareth’s teammate, Edge, has secrets of his own, and David's ex-lover will never be happy without David under his thumb. With everything stacked against him, can a gay Laguna man find happiness with an alpha male – or two?

My Review:
For pure entertainment value, this book was really fun. For reality, it was a little less so, but you know, this is meant to be a light, entertaining read so I choose to overlook the reality issues with the book.

David is a 6'1" gay guy...and it sounds like he's pretty flaming, so even though he has the size, he's just not what one would consider alpha. He's artistic and has a certain swishy style. BUT he does have a certain weakness for alphas...a weakness that's gotten him in trouble before and as the book begins, it looks like it's going to cause issues again. He knows the danger and chooses to ignore it because he really likes Gareth.

Gareth and Edge are two Australian sand volleyball players and have both been fairly vocal about putting down gay guys. But they are both hiding the reality of their situation...from each other and from themselves.

Like I said the book was just pure fun. It's definitely an insta-love story featuring a couple of virgins who aren't afraid to just jump on in there and go gung-ho. Yeah, a few reality issues, but it's all about the fantasy on this one, so if you can choose to overlook if this would ever actually happen, this is a fun read. It's also pretty fast...can easily be read in under two hours so it's a perfect read for a late night escape.

There was good depth to the story and the characters so it was definitely satisfying in that regard, even though it's a shorter novel.
