Story Overview:
Love doesn’t come with a syllabus.

Kelly Davidson has waited what seems like forever to graduate high school and get out of his small-minded, small town. But when he arrives at Hope University, he quickly realizes finding his Prince Charming isn’t so easy. Everyone here is already out. In fact, Kelly could be the only virgin on campus.

Worst of all, he’s landed the charming, handsome, gay campus Casanova as a roommate, whose bed might as well be equipped with a revolving door.

Walter Lucas doesn’t believe in storybook love. Everyone is better off having as much fun as possible with as many people as possible…except his shy, sad little sack of a roommate is seriously screwing up his world view.

As Walter sets out to lure Kelly out of his shell, staying just friends is harder than he anticipated. He discovers love is a crash course in determination. To make the grade, he’ll have to finally show up for class…and overcome his own private fear that love was never meant to last.

Warning: This story contains lingering glances, milder than usual sexual content for this author, and a steamy dance-floor kiss. Story has no dairy or egg content, but may contain almonds.

My Review:
What an absolutely gorgeous, completely heart-warming romantic story. I LOVED THIS BOOK!! Every single little thing about it....perfection. *happy sigh*

Okay, so the book starts with Walter. Walter is a junior at Hope...a college which REALLY doesn't like it's students to live off-campus. But Walter has a few issues and with the support of his advisor and a friend, managed to bypass that rule last year. At the last minute this year, everything about his off-campus housing fell through and the university is making him move back into the dorms. This late in the game, there's not much to choose from as far as roommates for a gay guy so he moves into a single with freshman, Kelly.

To understand how different these two guys are, just look at their favorite all time movies...for Walter, that's FIGHT CLUB; for Kelly, it's TANGLED. Yes, Walter is jaded and pessimistic and has had a horrible family life. Kelly is all things sweet. He's a virgin with Disney-like expectations for love and romance. Walter is all about the hook-up...NEVER a relationship. Walter doesn't believe in love. Kelly doesn't want to hook-up without a relationship. BUT as roommates they work. Walter needs to take care of someone and Kelly needs that. He's overwhelmed by college and the failure of his expectations. He's also HIGHLY allergic to just about everything.

I loved watching their friendship develop. They are so really good together. They balance each other and it incredibly well. The story was a great blend of romance and college life as Kelly adjusts to this new world. There are several sub-plots with the guys' family issues going on at home, Walter's beloved advisor who may be losing his job, and Walter's best friend who's getting well as just the adjustments to their lives living together in this somewhat unfriendly dorm. It's not all happiness and flowers and there's a distinctly real feel to it all. But even with all the stress, it remains an uplifting book and was definitely one that left me with a smile on my face. I loved Walter and Kelly and thought their story was absolutely gorgeous!
