Rachel Kelly has traveled a long, hard road in her journey back to her husband, Ethan, and the Kelly family. Now, as she and Ethan are poised to move into their new home, safe behind the walls of the Kelly compound, Rachel wonders if she’ll finally be free of the ghosts that have haunted her for so long and if she’ll step into the sun after a past steeped in darkness.

My Review:
One of the themes that has flowed throughout Maya Banks' entire KGI series has been wounded characters. Rachel is definitely up there at the top as one of the most wounded after being held prisoner for over a year. As a result, it was really gratifying as a reader to revisit her and Ethan. Because honestly, they had rough times before her imprisonment, so its a bit more difficult to believe in their HEA.

This book settled it for me. Gah, the emotion packed into this little novella was amazing! Things were so bad between the two of them before she "died" that it is really hard to read and deal with those emotions even from a reader standpoint. Ethan...sigh...I love him and the regret that he feels over all that transpired during that time. Having a chance to do it over again is a HUGE gift and never for one moment does it feel like he's not taking advantage of that. As a reader who loved these characters and their story the first time around, this novella was amazing!

AND there is a TON packed into this little book....even a bit of suspense done KGI way. If you are a fan of the series and most especially Ethan and Rachel's story, you NEED to read this novella. I promise you, it will not disappoint!
