My Review:
This was a fabulous book just because the premise is so different. I'll admit, I'm a bit sick of the whole BDSM play that's showing up everywhere, but this is not that book. In this book, Heather is trying to set herself apart at a speed-dating event and ends up doing so with the hottest guy there by bossing him around. She's as shocked as anyone. She is not a dom, but thinks that she can play one just for the chance to play with this really hot guy some.

I loved that twist. Heather is a normal girl. She doesn't play games in the bedroom. Honestly, she's just happy if the guy manages to get her off before he takes off. With Tony, she finds something completely different and it works for both of them.

Tony is a bigtime corporate dude...lots of responsibility, lots of power. He's made billions of dollars for his firm. He's as surprised as anyone when Heather's bossiness gets him all hot and bothered. He never realized that was a kink of his and as they play more and more, things become hotter and hotter.

Loved this book. It starts out sizzling, but turns into this gorgeous sweet romance that you can't help but fall in love with. As the book progresses, both Tony and Heather have to take a look at who they truly are and how they've been presenting a different face to the world. It's a great book about self-exploration and about how important it is to be true to yourself.

My only complaint about the book is that both of their best friends (both Tony's and Heather's) are AWFUL...and self-centered...and not really friends at all. I wouldn't have minded one of them being that way, but it seemed a bit much that both of them were like that. It was just a little too much especially when I only wanted good things for these characters that I managed to fall in love with.

I've been a fan of the BDSM genre for a long time. Do I think it's being overdone right now? Absolutely, but I can say without a doubt, that this book is fresh and I highly recommend it. The BDSM in it is extremely light-hearted and's all just bedroom play, but it was hot having the female lead take the lead in the bedroom too. HOT!

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Loved the book and loved your review! I have to disagree about your thoughts about Carla and Marcus. I thought they were good representations of real life people.

I liked how light and fun the bdsm elements were in this one and that they weren't really in the scene too. Their friends didn't bother me quite as much as some. I think it'll be interesting to see what happens with them and find out why they are how they are : )

Great review you hit a lot of key points in your blog about C.J.'s book the BDSM is that harmless. I am like you the BDSM genre is getting kinda boring its sort of you read 1 you read them all. Vanilla on Top isn't like that its more of a romance novel with some sex scenes throw-ed in well hot sex scenes.

I like coming to different sites and hear what they have to say about books I have read. Everyone has different views on books and I find it interesting to see just what they feel was good or not good. i loved this book and enjoyed not only Heather and Tony but Carla and Marcus. I think they both are in a place they don't like(in the relationship department) and looking for what Heather and Tony are discovering.

That was a great review. And i agree with the best friends being too self-centred. But the book is amazing, as your review as said, and a must read
