Book Description:
Mandy Morgan swore she’d never step foot in Texas again after Beau Gentry left her for life on the rodeo circuit eight years before. But now her uncle’s heart is failing and she has to convince him that surgery will save his life. She never dreamed the first thing she’d see when she stepped off the plane would be her biggest nightmare...the one man she’d never stopped loving.
Beau Gentry had the fever for two things: the rodeo and Mandy Morgan. But for Beau, loving Mandy was complicated by his father’s vendetta against her uncle. This led him to make the hardest decision of his life and he can still see the bitterness and hurt on Mandy’s face. All these years it has killed him to think Mandy had forgotten him and moved as far away as possible from him. But now they’re back in Texas, and he’s going to do all he can to win back her love.

My Review:

Mandy and Beau have a history that ended poorly eight years ago. She hasn't been back to her beloved Uncle's ranch ever since because she didn't want to risk running into Beau. When her mother finally convinces her that her Uncle needs her to visit, it's Beau who picks her up at the airport. Her worst nightmare...having to spend several hours alone with him. Her heart isn't up to that kind of stress because there's no doubt, this guy broke her heart.

But this visit brings out several revelations...about the break-up with Beau and even her relationship with her Uncle. Nothing is as she's always thought and Mandy has to re-examine everything.

I liked Mandy although I didn't understand why she sacrificed so much of herself to work at her father's advertising firm. I got the feeling that she doesn't even enjoy the job that much. On the other hand, it seems that she's always loved life out on the ranch during the summers that she's spent there. It just seemed sad to me that she's never worked harder to really work and do the things she loved. She's obviously an amazingly hard worker and willing to devote every single part of herself to getting the job done.

I liked Beau too and understood why he did what he did eight years ago. He loved Candy and knew she deserved better than life on the road following the rodeo. I liked that he's on the cusp of having his dream, but is willing to sacrifice that when Mandy's Uncle asks for help. He doesn't even question it. He just steps up. Both of these people are extremely loyal and devoted to those they love. No question...they will do what they need to do for those they love.

Overall, this was a fun book to read. I liked the ranch setting and the little glimpses of Beau's rodeo talent. I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to the next two books in this series.

I received a complementary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Lisa Mondello (a.k.a. LA Mondello) has held many jobs in her life but being a published authors is the last job she'll ever have. She's not retiring! She blames the creation of the personal computer for her leap into writing novels. Otherwise, she'd still be penning stories with paper and pen.  Her first book, All I Want for Christmas is You, was the winner of the Golden Quill contest for Best First Book and to date has had over 350,000 downloads worldwide.

She is currently the author of 14 novels under the name Lisa Mondello and LA Mondello.
