Story Overview:
Family is not always defined by blood. It’s defined by those who make us whole—those who make us who we are.

And here, at the end, Bear and Otter will be tested like they’ve never been before.

There’s a knock at the door from a little girl who has nowhere else to go.

There’s a phone ringing, bringing news they do not expect.

There’s a brother returning home after learning how to stand on his own.

As these moments converge, all of their lives will change forever.

Beginning in Bear, Otter, and the Kid, and continuing in Who We Are and The Art of Breathing, TJ Klune has told a saga of family and brotherhood, of love and sacrifice. In this final chapter, the events of the past pave the long and winding road toward a future no one could have imagined.
My Review:

OMG, this book was just the perfect ending to this amazing series. There were so many times where I was reading the story and laughing out loud on one sentence and then totally tearing up and crying at the next sentence. This entire series has been so emotional, but knowing this one was the last and with the events happening throughout the book, I was all over the place. IT WAS SO DARN GOOD!!!

But I truly am thrilled with how TJ Klune chose to end the series. This book went back to focusing on Bear and Otter as the point of view protagonists telling the story...because the whole epic saga has been anchored around them.

I liked all the places where this story went. Each individual story line was emotional and perfect...with the same colorful, wonderful cast of characters interacting around Bear & Otter with the same laugh out loud antics. I don't want to get into specifics because I don't want to give spoilers for the entire series.

But who would have thought that Bear and Otter could have so much upheaval in their lives so many years after the start of this series? It seriously just made me love them more...love their relationship more...love their entire hand-chosen family more. And can I just say that I adore how much Mrs. P was a part of the story until the very end? Every single one of those scenes with her made me cry. I loved this book so much...Ty, Izzie, Dom, Creed, Anna. I feel like these characters are part of my heart now and I never plan to let them go.

And there are so many new characters that show up in this story that become part of the 'family'. But my favorites, hands-down are Megan and her boyfriend. They are classic characters to round out this crazy bunch!!

I've spent the last three days reading all four books in the series. That's the way this series needs to be read. These truly are not stand-alone stories, although they probably can be read that way. For the true, full story, you need to read the entire series...AND IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE SO, YOU NEED TO READ THE ENTIRE SERIES!!

This truly is one of the absolute best series out there in the romance genre. It hits all the feels and I need to put it on my regular re-read rotation schedule, because I think it gets better and better with each reread.
