Story Overview:
He puts the hot...
Christian Watson, a former SAS officer and current BKI operator, never thought he would return to England after a terrible turn of events forced him to abandon his homeland. But now he's back on British soil where old enemies are determined to do him in. Fighting for his life is pretty much SOP for Christian. Doing it with the beautiful, bossy Emily Scott in tow is another matter entirely.

In hot pursuit.
Emily lost her coveted job at the CIA because of a colleague turned rogue, and now she has just one rule when it comes to men: they're for recreational purposes only. But when she and Christian are thrust into very close quarters while evading two mysterious men who want Christian dead, she can't help but question all her ideas about love and life lived on the edge. Battling the bad guys is hard enough, battling her feelings for Christian just might prove impossible.

My Review:
Christian...the well dressed, sarcastic former SAS officer. He and Emily have had a fairly confrontational relationship for a long time. But as we know, confrontation in romance is just another word for sexual chemistry...LOL.

Christian and Emily are more alike than they ever would have guessed. Christian has built a whole facade that is nothing like who he really is. I loved watching all that starch unravel by being around Emily. This book was like the unpeeling of Christian and I loved that about it. Emily is seemingly so different from him...she's an in-your-face, tell-it-like-it-is girl. I loved her and the quips and snarks she would say. Seriously, she kept me grinning the whole book.

The thing is...despite how they start out...Christian likes her, too. And as things really begin to develop between them, he gets to the point where he won't hide that anymore. I loved his character for that. Once he's all in with his emotions for her...there are no games...he'll tell anyone. He's all in. There's an exposed vulnerability to him for that that made him so dang sexy. I loved that aspect.

This book continued where the previous book left off...with the group trying to get out of England, and the Spider thwarting them at every turn. The suspense wasn't quite as high on this one, although the action was pretty good.

Overall it was a good read. Now I'm ready for more...please, please, please...I'm begging the publishing gods...let Ace and Rusty get their own full-length book. I loved them in this one so much and want to see them find their HEA, too!! But I am really, really excited about Angel's story, too. It was fun to get to see a bit more personality come out for him in this one.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
