Story Overview:
In this steamy novel of seduction and international intrigue, two brave men are stripped of their defenses—and exposed to dangers and desires that simmer below the surface.
As an agent with the CIA’s special activities division, Seth Lang lives for risk—and yet he’s stuck playing bodyguard to the U.S. consul general in Munich. Although Seth’s last assignment nearly killed him, babysitting some desk jockey in a suit sounds way too easy. But when he lays eyes on the new top man, tactical expert Rick Fine, Seth’s thrilled to see just how hard this job is going to get. Mr. Tall, Dark, and Quiet has a body worth guarding—and he requires hands-on attention day and night.
Dispatched to a German consulate to expose the murder of his predecessor, Rick finds himself in an extremely vulnerable position. He needs a man like Seth—in so many ways. This mission will inevitably plunge them both into jeopardy, but each new threat only brings them closer. Rick just hopes that he can keep his deepest, darkest secret hidden—or else risk imperiling a relationship they’re both fighting for their lives to protect.

My Review:
This book was so, so good. Seriously, I'd love to sit down and re-read the entire book right now. I love it when I finish a book and that's the feeling I'm left with.

This book is about Seth and Rick. Rick is a CIA black ops desk jockey who's been brought in to take over as the interim consul where they think the last guy doing the job was murdered. This is a twisted romantic suspense where no one knows quite what was going on or exactly who to trust. Seth was brought in to act as Rick's security guard while he's ferreting out the truth. The thing is...these two guys meet three nights before the assignment begins and have a seriously hot and sexy tryst in the back of a bar...not realizing who the other is. So that makes things a little awkward when they find out they're going to be in really close proximity for the near future.

These two guys are in a strange and stressful situation. I love how honest they are with one another about what's happening between them. There's enough stress and danger in their lives without them playing games.

Pretty much everything about this book was perfect in my opinion, but there were some things that I really, really loved. Rick is a desk jockey, and he wears glasses. I loved how much those glasses did it for Seth. There are some great, and sexy, scenes that feature the glasses. Even though he's the paper guy, Rick is not without skills. I love that he holds his own, even when Seth is supposed to be protecting him.

The pacing of this book was amazing. There is a lot happening, so the story never slowed down, but it never got to be too much either. It just made it so that I couldn't put my kindle down...I could not walk away from this story. I never did figure out who the bad guys were...they seriously could have been any of the players, and I loved that playing out in the background. But the romance was front and center for this story. This was all about these two men and the explosive...many times desperate....chemistry between them. This is a story with lots of adrenaline and danger. As such the sex scenes are very fast, powerful, and sensual. I loved the two men together. So sexy.

I highly recommend this book. It's been my favorite from the series so far. Note: this is part of a series, but the stories can easily be read as stand alones with no issues.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
