Michelin Moses is a country music star on the rise. With a hit single under his Texas-sized belt buckle and a sold-out concert tour underway, his childhood dreams of making it big are finally coming true. But there’s one thing missing—a promise to his dying mother that he’d find it—him—when the time was right. With a little luck, he won’t have to wait too long . . .
Lucky Ramirez is a hunky boy toy who dances at The Broom Closet, one of West Hollywood’s hottest gay bars. He loves what he does, and he’s good at it—almost as good as he is at playing dumb when he spots Michelin Moses at the bar. What happens next is off the charts—and keeps Michelin coming back for more. He’s just not sure it’s the right move for his career. But if Lucky gets his way, Michelin will get Lucky—and no matter how the media spins it, neither of them will be faking it . . .
This has been one of my favorite m/m series, and this newest installment did not disappoint...at all. I loved Michelin and Lucky's story.
Michelin is deep in the closet. He's a music superstar...having made the transition from rock group to country. He's a mega star, which should make him impervious to worry about coming out of the closet, but he works in country now...and his fans will NOT understand. That's all blown to hell the night he comes into Lucky's go-go club.
Lucky is a go-go dancer barely making it, but he's had experience being a "kept" guy once before so he's really sensitive about the possibility. This causes a lot of issues between the two...on top of the fact that Michelin isn't willing to truly be out. There is so much standing in the way of these two finding their happily ever after, but they are so good together.
I'm a sucker for a coming out story. While Michelin has a little bit of experience, it was over a decade ago. He's basically a virgin...and I love stories like this when they are done well. This one is done really, really well. Michelin and Lucky are coming from completely different backgrounds but they complement one another really well.
The country story line was also really interesting. I've watched the country music business over the last few years as a few stars and up-and-coming stars have come out. I applaud Annabeth Albert for her perfect timing with this book. I for one always try to put my purchasing power behind those that are brave enough to be true to themselves and this book just validated how important that is.
I loved both Michelin and Lucky and got so much joy from getting to read their story of how they came together. The book is fabulous and I highly recommend it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
