My Review:
This book starts off with a huge bang. Landry Cooper is a SWAT officer and werewolf. He's chatting up a woman, Everly, in line at the bank when he hears two men discussing the robbery they are about to perpetuate. Landry spoils their plans, saves the girl, and gets a date in the process. He also manages to get suspended. One SWAT officer managed to take down 5 bank robbers...there are questions.

But he met Everly so although Cooper loves working with SWAT he's okay with taking some time off if that means he gets to spend more time with this sexy artist.

The book is crazy fast paced. There are all kinds of things happening...Cooper's being investigated. There's a nutso bomber loose in the area. And both him and Everly are falling head over heals in love. (He's a shifter and she's The One so this is definitely an instalove kind of story.) There also seemed to be a bit of intrigue building with Cooper's therapist that never actually developed into anything. I'm wondering if that will come back into play in a future SWAT story.

But there's also her family. She has 4 overprotective brothers and a father who all think they have a say in her love life, despite the fact that she's 28 yrs old. Everly's roommate, Mia, also has quite a bit of man-drama happening in the background too.

There's a lot to love about this book. Like I said there's a lot of action so the story moves really quickly. I never wanted to put it down. I also really loved Everly's job as an artist. There were some sexy drawing scenes in this one and those are always fun. And I'm always a fan of the bromance world that is this SWAT team. The visuals I had in my head of the beach volleyball were really, very nice!

My one issue with this book was the story with Everly's family. That seemed to be building up to be much more than it really was. And then in the end it all just kind of went conveniently away...a little too conveniently.

But overall, I really did enjoy reading the story. I always have liked this series...hot werewolf, SWAT officers...there's a lot to love there. Especially the twist that in this world for the werewolf gene to be activated the person carrying it had to go through some huge traumatic event. That alone means most of these guys have some fabulous, angst-filled back stories.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
