Story Overview:
USA TODAY bestselling author Sarah Morgan introduces a sizzling new trilogy about three best friends embracing life—and love—in Manhattan

Cool, calm and competent, events planner Paige Walker loves a challenge. After a childhood spent in and out of hospitals, she's now determined to prove herself—and where better to take the world by storm than in the exhilarating bustle of Manhattan? But when Paige is let go from the job she loves, she must face her biggest challenge of all—going it alone.

Except launching her own events company is nothing compared to hiding her outrageous crush on Jake Romano—her brother's best friend, New York's most in-demand date, and the only man to break her heart. When Jake offers Paige's fledgling company a big chance, their still-sizzling chemistry starts giving her sleepless nights. But can she convince the man who trusts no one to take a chance on forever?

My Review:
Yay...a new series from Sarah Morgan and I really, really like it so far. At the center of this series are three friends who all live in Manhattan, Paige, Frankie, and Eva. Paige is the pragmatist...she's the brains and the risk-taker of the group. Frankie is the pessimist. She's grown up with a mother who believes in the happily ever after and is willing to go for it with any guy. And then Eva is the dreamer and romantic.

At the intro of this book, they are all working for a NYC event planner and the sudden cut of 50% of the jobs at the company means they are all out of jobs...so they start their own concierge company.

Paige is the heroine of this book. During childhood, Paige almost died several times because she had defective heart. That's fixed now, but no one in her life has gotten the clue...they still want to protect and help her. This includes her parents, older brother Matt (she and her friends all live in his building), and Matt's best friend Jake. The thing is Jake has always been the one who hasn't over-protected her...on the surface. What she doesn't know is that Jake is protecting her from HIM. Jake also doesn't believe in love. His mother abandoned him when he was 6 and that's left a mark on him.

And even though things aren't quite comfortable between Jake and Paige (because she told him she loved him at age 18 and he's tried to put her off that path ever since), this is very much a friends to lovers story and I'm a huge sucker for those. I love that they have this grand history between them. They "get" one another as only true friends can.

I loved the whole friend dynamic of this little group. They do movie nights together, friends nights at Jake's family Italian restaurant, and with the girls all living in Matt's building they are always interacting. Both Matt and Jake have VERY successful businesses that they've built in NYC, so there is that aspect, too...VERY wealthy bachelors abound.

I cannot wait for Matt and Frankie's book which comes next. There's a glimpse of it in this book. But I've also ordered a print copy of this book because I want to read about Chase and Matilda (who had a novella previous to this story which is included in the print release).

This was a fabulous start to this series. I'm definitely excited to read more!

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
