Twenty-something Kat Reid is loving life as an in-demand Hollywood makeup artist. She has absolutely no interest in rock ’n’ roll, but in order to pay the mortgage, she agrees to work on the set of a rock video for the world-famous rockers known as Bad Habit…which brings her face-to-face with Nico Nyx, lead singer of Bad Habit and Adonis in the flesh.
However, the fiercely independent Kat isn’t impressed by the hard-living, womanizing rock star. But when Nico’s model girlfriend shows up to the set drunk and Kat is tapped to replace her as the video’s sexy bride, her combustible chemistry with Nico suddenly threatens to consume the set. Nico feels it, too—and becomes determined to win Kat over, body and soul. Yet behind his rock god swagger, Nico hides a dark secret. Can he rock Kat’s world forever, or will he just break her heart?
This was a GREAT audiobook. The narrator was amazing. I think I would have enjoyed the book if I had read it, because it's a great story, but seriously, the audiobook narration took this book totally over the top into fantastic.
Nico is a rockstar. He's totally and completely self-confident and when he meets Kat, he knows he wants her...and it's not just lust. He knows pretty much immediately that this is so much more. He wants her forever. There were times when his insistence about her trusting him and how he wouldn't give up on her, on them was so sweet, but there were moments when it seriously approached stalker/scary status. (That was the only thing that gave me a slight niggle about this book...there are times when he really is over the top with how he treats Kat.)
Kat isn't so sure. Nico has secrets, is a huge rockstar, and did I mention...he's keeping secrets? She knows that she likes him a lot, but it seems like every time she turns around there's something else that's a huge red flag that she shouldn't trust him...no matter what he says. But the feelings between them are just SO MUCH and when she's with him, she just feels like it's right.
I loved the story, and it was so good on audio. It has a single narrator who's a female, but her voice for Nico was so good. I loved how she did his voices...so perfect!!
I highly recommend the book. There's a bit of mystery (those secrets I mentioned) that creates a bit of suspense to the story line. I liked the twists and turns and enjoyed every moment of listening to the audio. It's a great start and introduction to this amazing band, Bad Habit. I loved it.
