But he also wakes up to his old tattoo artist, a man he hasn't seen in eighteen years but who hasn't aged a day… a man Kazimir is starting to fear doesn't actually exist…My Review:
I'm not sure what exactly to say about this book...it was very odd. In fact, I'm still not sure what was real and what wasn't in the book...because the main character in the book has no idea what's real and what's not. In fact, he's pretty sure he's crazy throughout a lot of the book. There's a lot of symbolism and things that "may be" happening, but it just didn't make much sense to me.
And I'll admit, I read the book when I had a bad headache which certainly didn't help me try to sort through the events happening within the story.
But what I do know...I didn't like or enjoy Kasimir...definitely not a protagonist that I could cheer for...because you know, he's not a nice guy. So in the end, whatever happened to him, he probably deserved and I'm kind of hoping that the entire book is some sort of trauma induced hallucination. Because he sounds like he pretty much deserves that.
So yeah, if you like your books twisted with tons of symbolism and "what if's" then this may be a book for you. Otherwise, you may want to give it a pass.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
