Story Overview:
He controls the game, but she’s rewriting all the rules…

Marley Lake is no stranger to awkwardness, but getting caught watching a dirty GIF by the company’s hot new IT guy exceeds even her standards. That is, until she realizes he's as turned on by it as she is. But with a big promotion on the line, she refuses to let her current dry spell be her downfall. Maybe.

Austin Rivers has no business lusting after the irresistible editor of Gamers Magazine. He's a secret partner in the business—and technically Marley’s boss. One look at that GIF, though, and he’s ready to install a whole lot more than just software…as long as she never finds out who he really is.

But reality’s not as virtual as it seems, and when Austin’s identity jeopardizes Marley’s promotion, he has to change his game or risk losing the only woman with the cheat code to his heart.

My Review:
I liked this book. If you like your heroes and heroines with a touch of nerdy, I think you'll like this one, too.

Marley works at a gamers' magazine. She loves her job and she loves her gaming time and cosplay conventions. She's definitely a nerdy girl at heart, but she's also driven and ambitious and works hard at her job which puts her in the realm of a lot of men. Men who don't always see her as an equal, so she has to work that much harder.

Austin is a secret owner of the magazine where Marley works. She was there late one night and had an IT issue that he went and fixed. She just assumes he works in the IT department...which he doesn't. He just also happens to be the creator of her favorite video game. He doesn't tell Marley any of this because Austin has trust issues that stem from a really tragic childhood. The only person he ever lets in is his best friend, Grant, who IS Marley's boss.

You can already see where all that side of the story is going to go. Lying, even just by omission, is never a good idea. But what makes this book so good is that it's so sexy. Marley is always in control. As a result, she'd like someone else to take the reins and Austin is just the guy for the job. Hmmm...yeah, this is good and sexy.

It's a really fun book. It has all the eye-rolling nerdiness of the gaming world, but it's set in a big time, professional setting. It's a great dichotomy that I really, really enjoyed. I loved Marley's character and her great relationship with her brother, Chad (ahem...Megan Erickson, you write m/m too...are we going to get a story for him?? Please!!) And Austin is just so awkward, despite his success in life, you can't help but love him. I also loved the fact that he's awkward everywhere except when it comes to sex where he's completely take charge and in command. So sexy... but I've mentioned that already, right?

hehe...I liked it and definitely recommend it!
I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
