Ethan Rushton can’t believe his eyes when he discovers the type of shifter he saved from a hunter. The long incisors hanging out the mouth, the sloped hindquarters…it’s a saber tooth cat come to life.

Peter Neren’s been running his whole life. For ten thousand years his species has been a secret but now he is the last of his kind. He doesn’t know if he can trust Ethan, but he’s got to try because it’s time to take a stand.

Their attraction is instant, and once they act on their passions, nature found a way to ensure the survival of the species…leaving Peter pregnant. He will do anything to protect his unborn cub, and so will Ethan, even if that means becoming bait to hunt down the man trying to kill them both.
My Review:
Okay, you would expect with that title that this book might be a little on the ridiculous side, but it wasn't. It was actually pretty good.

Peter is the last of his kind...a species of sabertooth tiger thought to be extinct for 10,000 years. BUT they haven't been extinct. They've actually always been shifters who were very careful not to be exposed. But then a big-game hunter discovered and killed his family for trophies and this 22 year old has been on the run ever since.

Ethan's entire family has died and he just can't deal with the real world anymore. Instead he fled to the mountains, but when he scented another feline shifter on his land, he began to track him just to make sure that any area humans stayed safe. Luckily he came upon Peter just after the hunter did and was able to save him. The hunter may be wounded, but he's still out there and now he has two shifters on his radar.

Peter doesn't trust anyone. But Ethan has convinced him that he can't run forever. What neither man realizes though is that evolution works to keep species from dying out. Peter's the last of his kind, so... You see where this is going, right? I loved these guys reactions when they heard the news, especially Peter. OMG, so cute and fun. That part of it is really light-hearted and honestly was done incredibly well. In fact the whole book works for me. If you like shifter and m/m stories, I think you will love this one too. I suggest you give it a try. It's short, but it's a great read.
