Sweet little Stefan is awestruck by the big, gorgeous dancer with the rock hard abs and the lonely eyes. Determined to see what lurks behind the perfect surface, he gets a little more than he bargained for.
This is the second book in the working boys series. I read book #1 and expected more of the same type of in-depth story. This one (and book #3) didn't quite live up to that level of depth, but it was an interesting story.
Andy is a burly, beefy go-go dancer. He's a former marine suffering from PTSD after his lover died alongside him in Afghanistan. He's barely making it as a dancer and is hoping to break into porn...where the good money is. He has his shot the night that Stefan catches his eye in the club. Stefan is distracting in that he looks like Andy's dead lover, something he was already having an issue with on this night with flashbacks.
The story is very short. It covers a very short amount in time and I wish that it had gone on a bit longer so that there was more than just the happily for now ending. But what was there was entertaining for an hour's read.
I do have to say though that the big burly marine persona of Andy just doesn't fit my idea of a go-go dancer. When I imagine go-go dancer, I think twink or lean, not burly. I could be totally wrong here because let's face it I'm a hetero woman not a gay man hitting up the clubs, but it just seemed slightly off... although I could totally see him as a porn bear.
And speaking of visuals...can we take a moment to ogle that cover? Gor.Geous!!
