But when he later discovers the woman he’s itching for another night with is his best friend’s sister, everything comes to a halt.

Just out of a toxic relationship, Megan Jansen is only in Hidden Oaks to visit her brother, photograph the firemen’s calendar, and then slip off to another adventure. The brooding man who gave her the best sex ever is an unexpected surprise. The problem is, he’s her brother’s friend and a fellow fireman, and Megan’s rule is no firemen. She knows she’s going to get burned …but keeping their hands off each other is easier said than done.
My Review:
This is one sexy little read, but it doesn't have the normal emotional push and pull conflict games that the majority of romance novels have and I loved that about it.

Becker is a volunteer fire fighter and captain. He's also a bar owner. When he meets Megan, she only knows him as the bar owner. Megan is a wanderer, artist, and the daughter of a fallen fireman. She's also the sister of Becker's best friend. He doesn't know that about her when they meet either. Their first meeting is a random, seriously sexy hook-up. It's not meant to be anything more so when the two find out who the other really is, there are shock waves. They agree it's best to stay apart, rather than the week-long fling they were playing with while Megan was temporarily in town.

Well, this is a romance novel and things rarely go according to the MC's plans especially when those plans go against the chemistry they have together. But they both do put up a fairly decent fight against their attraction...at least for a few hours. LOL.

I did enjoy the book. I liked that Megan is an artist and photographer and that she's there to do the fireman's calendar. (Note: this book had fantastic mental visuals....did you catch that? She's photographing a fireman's calendar. Um...yeah!) And even though they've both dealt with it differently, I liked the shared history they have of trauma from firemen deaths. It's a good reminder that although these guys are amazing and sexy in idea, what they do every day is extremely dangerous and really not-so-sexy when someone is at home worried about them.

The book is incredibly sexy and hot and I enjoyed the romance in it. I recommend it especially if you have a thing for firemen.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
