Story Overview:
She’s the one fire he can’t put out…

Jamie Lansing has had it bad for firefighter Smith Grayson for as long as they’ve been friends. Yes, he’s ridiculously charming and she might stare a little too long at his abs, but his dirty-talking, rough-around-the-edges ways aren’t for her. Plus, she knows that as a serial dater, Smith isn’t the type to settle down. But then a terrible, fantastic, mind-blowing mistake leaves her body craving more than one night.
Smith Grayson has only ever had eyes for one woman in town—his best friend Jamie. But convincing her a relationship between them will work is next to impossible with her refusing to see beyond his past. But when she asks for a week of no-strings-attached sex to get him out of her system, Smith knows this is his one chance to prove he’s not just the man she needs in her bed, but the man she needs in her life.
My Review:
One of my favorite tropes is friends to lovers and this one featured a firefighter and a bartender...how about that for a win? Overall this book is pretty good. I liked the relationship between Smith and Jamie. As friends, they already have a good relationship, but Jamie knows that Smith is a serial dater. She assumes that's because he doesn't want a commitment, but that's not the way Smith sees it. He just hasn't met the right girl. Jamie knows that it would be way too easy to fall for him, get her heart broken, and lose her friendship with him. That's not the way she wants to go, but she really wants the guy so she proposes a week of no-strings sex. Smith finally gives in hoping he can change her mind.

Smith is one of those guys...he's nice, he's sexy, he's charming. Girls don't turn him down so he doesn't know what to do about the girl he really wants basically using him for sex. As a girl, it was a bit empowering to read this guy have a little bit of reality in his life. At the same time, I did really feel sorry for the guy too. He has it really bad and Jamie just won't give him any breaks. And on the flip side, I could totally see Jamie's side of it too. That's the problem with friends dating...they know how you treat women and it's not always a pretty reality.

This book is part of Entangled's Brazen line so it's one hot little book. Honestly, that was my one complaint. Smith is a "bad-boy" and he likes to talk dirty. Normally, I like that, but something about it in this book bothered me...it just seemed too over-the-top and fake. That could totally have been because of my mood while reading this book because everything else about the book worked for me. The dirty talk just got to be way too long-winded and a bit too porn-movie-like for my tastes. Otherwise, it was a pretty good sexy little read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
