Story Overview:
An Indulgence Novella
Cass thought spending a month at a beachside hideaway relaxing and collecting shells would be the perfect escape to finish her novel. When she meets the dark and brooding and much younger Jonah, who's staying next door, her book becomes the last thing on her mind.

Jonah would rather stay home alone than go on vacation with his brother and their friends, but does his best to tolerate the situation after being convinced to go. But when he sees the beauty next door, he can't avoid his attraction.

Together, they break all the rules, but will Cass be able to bring Jonah out of his shell forever, or will he leave her with only the crash of the surf to keep her company?
My Review:
This book was good. I wasn't sure because I've never read this author, but I took a risk on it.

Cass is a novelist renting a cabin on the beach to write while her divorce is finalized. Jonah is a mystery through much of the book. There is definitely something going on with him that's an unknown. I loved that about the book...the mystery...and when it was revealed, I really liked his backstory. It definitely added dimension to his character which was needed since the book is told entirely from Cass's point of view.

I liked that Cass is a novelist too...and a cougar. Both those aspects really worked for me. Cass has been contracted to write three more books in her ongoing series, but her muse isn't connecting for her. Until she sees the young people next door...then a new erotica series develops under her fingertips. On the one hand, I enjoyed that she was inspired to write something completely different. On the other hand, I did not like that the story was interwoven into the text of her and Jonah's story. I didn't care about that story. I didn't want to read it. And I HATED that the epilogue for the book was that story. Seriously? That did NOT work for me. I wanted more Jonah and Cass...they were the characters I was emotionally involved with in this reading.

But Jonah and Cass's story did work for me. I connected to them and thought their romance was very sweet. The entire book takes place on the beach and it makes for a fun little afternoon's escape mentally to the beach. Something we all can enjoy this time of the year. It would be a PERFECT spring break read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
