Story Overview:
Kevin Morrison had it all. A house he worked hard for, a loving wife, and three beautiful children. But it wasn’t until his marriage ended that he realized what the void he’d felt almost all his life meant. Coming out as a gay man at thirty-six is not an easy feat, but he is determined to be true to his heart. Meeting a man who shares his values, and is good with his children would be a bonus, but when the guy arrives in a uniquely wrapped package, and has very specific handling instructions, Kevin needs to decide if he’s up for that kind of love.

Obsessed with order and symmetry, and a paralyzing fear of germs, Cedric Haughton-Disley has lived with isolation and loneliness as long as he can remember. Desperate to be normal, he makes some much-needed changes in his life. If he can commit to his treatment, he might very well be able to procure some quality of life… even if that’s all he can get, as finding love and having a relationship are only possible in Cedric’s wildest dreams. But when a chance encounter leaves Cedric wishing for more, he decides to take a leap of faith, and pursue the guy he wants.
Together the two men make an unlikely match. Cedric needs organization, and Kevin represents chaos. In order to stay together they both need to compromise, but will they be able to deal with Cedric’s issues and the potential disaster, or let it break them apart?

My Review:
A- spicy
One of the things that I've found I truly love about m/m romances are the surprising cast of quirky heroes. Cedric is one of those heroes and I just fell in love with him, all the while my heart was breaking for the difficulties in his life. Cedric has debilitating OCD...debilitating, as in he's only ever had one real relationship in his entire life that only lasted a couple of weeks before coming to an agonizing ending. He wants more and is trying so hard to get better with leaps and bounds of improvement since he came to the states. He has a new therapist, works at his job, and teaches a university course...all with the help of some new drugs. Drugs that are messing with his ability to function sexually. As if this 26 yo didn't have enough roadblocks to a normal relationship.

On the other side is Kevin. At 36, Kevin has finally admitted that he's gay. He got divorced 2 years ago and is trying to find his way in life as a gay man. Something that he isn't real comfortable with. He works in construction and is a guy's guy. His attempts at dating are painful as he meets a round of flamboyant gay guys that are so not what he's looking for. He's hung up on the dread-locked guy he saw at the coffee shop....Cedric.

Because of Cedric's limitations, this relationship has to build up very slowly. At times, it's painful to read about the difficulties facing these guys. They really like each other and the good part is that they truly do have a friendship and relationship developing, but for Kevin, this is so hard. For the first time in his life, he's accepted what he wants sexually, but isn't free to explore that. Cedric does not handle touch well and certainly has limitations...LOTS of them...on how that's done. Kevin's a good guy...honestly, perfect for Cedric because he's so good with him and allows for his hang-ups. But that doesn't change the fact that Kevin REALLY needs more.

I enjoyed the book and the unusual set-up. My one complaint is that I wish the Epilogue had been done further into the future. I wanted to truly see these guys happy and settled and only a month further in, it wasn't enough for me to truly believe they could be happy long-term....although I hope they could. Um yeah, I got kind of caught up with these characters lives....always the sign of a good book!
