Story Overview:
Kate has given up on love—at least for herself. She is both blessed and cursed with the ability to sense a romantic connection between two people—a gift that her family passed down for generations. When Kate launches her own matchmaking company, Kinnection, with her two best friends in a cozy New York town, she has to put aside her own romantic disasters to make her business a success.

But when a furious man stalks into her office and accuses her business of being a scam, Kate is given the ultimate challenge to prove herself. Slade puts himself in her hands and asks Kate to find him love. Enraged at his arrogance but stubbornly eager to prove herself, Kate agrees, dedicating herself to the journey of finding him love…only to find herself falling for him along the way.

My Review:
OMG, I loved this book. It's contemporary romance, but it has just the perfect touch of paranormal magic and whimsy that simply makes me happy.

Kate owns a matchmaking company with her two best friends. They each have their place in the company and how they handle their clients, but Kate has the touch....a second sense about who belongs with who. She's never found her perfect mate though and after her 100th bad date, she's ready to call it quits on finding that guy.

Slade is a divorce lawyer and is as jaded and bitter about love as you would think with that job. It didn't help that he barely saved his sister in time after her attempted suicide when a guy broke her heart. That was three years ago and in the interim Slade has taken it upon himself to make sure she never hurts like that again. When he finds out that she's hired the matchmakers, he goes after them with all his NYC lawyer power and plans to take the whole company down by proving they are frauds.

You can imagine Kate's horror when she touches Slade and discovers that he's her perfect mate.

Every little thing about this book was fun and entertaining. I loved the company Kinnection and the way the three women worked together to help their clients. Such a creative set-up...from the sweaty yoga (I was reading this in a public place and literally laughing out loud during this scene...so funny!) to the makeovers. The company is set up to work through their clients's issues about why they haven't found that perfect person yet. I adored Robert the dog and loved that aspect of this book...so sweet and when he and Slade bond- *happy sigh*. (If you are a dog-lover, you NEED to read this book and then to find out that Robert is based on a REAL dog....seriously awesome!!!)

Then there's simply the chemistry between Kate and Slade. It's magical (literally) and it sizzles through them and off the page. They are definitely at each other's throats to begin with, but they both have reasons for the way they are and what they are doing with their lives. As you learn those as the reader, you definitely fall more and more in love with both the characters.

It's simply a great set-up for a book. It will be interesting to see where the author takes the series. There were SO MANY incredible characters in the story that could get their own HEA. I look forward to the prospect of reading them.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
