~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Matt Simmons is over Army doctors poking him. But when his sister won't stop nagging him to see their old babysitter, now a sought after physical therapist, he gives in just to get some peace.

Penny is finally putting down roots after a lifetime of moving around. She’s got everything she wants, except the settled suburban life she longs for. All she needs is the perfect guy, which means NO military men.

When Matt realizes that his old babysitter is h-o-t, he’s suddenly seeing the benefits of therapy. But Penny still sees him as the bratty kid she used to babysit.

Suddenly he has a new mission in life…

The book contains an elderly lothario, a heroine who's not afraid to get in your face, and the kind of sex therapy that med school doesn't teach.

My Review:
This was a fun book to read. Matt dislocated his shoulder in the warzone, dragging his buddy to safety. It's been many months (maybe even a year??) since it happened, but it's just not healing. In fact, it's getting a lot worse. Faced with the deadline of having to be fit so he can return to active duty, Penny is his last hope. He still hopes to qualify for the special forces.

Penny is a physical therapist who isn't afraid to create new techniques and experiment to get her patients healed, but she fully believes that the patient has to work too. When Matt comes in with a lousy, angry attitude, she tells him to forget it. But they finally work it out so that they can work together, but Matt wants more. Penny grew up with a military father. Even if Matt weren't a patient, he wouldn't have a chance with her...but as their friendship develops, it becomes obvious that their chemistry is going to be hard to ignore.

This book is a nice, light read. I enjoyed the story of the romance between Matt and Penny especially with his back story. I liked that even though they have this incredible attraction to each other, they truly develop a friendship first. They are just flat-out perfectly compatible. It was pretty darn hot too, because honestly, their chemistry is combustible.

I also really loved getting to see all the Alexander clan and where they are now. My one big complaint is that we never got to find out what was in Elliot's closet (Matt moves into Eli's house in this book and makes a surprising discovery in the closet, but we were never told what exactly that was...hmmm). I guess we'll find out in the next book, since he's next and I already love the set-up for his story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
