Story Overview:
Take one NFL tight end, and one Marine, add one week and watch the sparks fly.

Bowen Murphy craved two things, football and Dylan. After high school he had football but he lost Dylan.

Dylan Sunday walked a different path, one laid down before him by his father and his grandfather. Losing Bo one day after discovering they shared more than football wasn’t part of the bargain.

Six years of missed connections and finally Dylan is able to come home to the man he left behind. The spectacle of the biggest game in the NFL is only the beginning of one sizzling week. After that time and fate would decide if Bo and Dylan would walk the same path, or if one of them would make the ultimate sacrifice.

Warning: bittersweet tale of two hot men, making up for six years of separation. May not be suitable for sensitive readers. Contains scenes of male/male sexual practices.

My Review:
In the last twelve hours, I've read this book twice and I've sobbed through the last 25% of it both times. It truly is such an amazing book. It's short... only a little over an hour to read it, but there is so much story and heart and emotion packed into it. EASILY one of my best reads this year. OMG, I loved this book.

(BTW, if you're not an m/m reader and have ever been curious about the genre....I would definitely recommend this as a starter book...it's graphic, but not hardcore like a lot of m/m, and the story is truly about the relationship, not the sex.)

The book begins when the guys are 18...they've been best friends since the age of 6 and Bo just found out that Dylan enlisted in the Marines. Bo has a football scholarship and is headed off to college, but Dylan's dad just died and left them in a financial lurch...so no college for him. Bo feels betrayed and angry and worried that Dylan enlisted and emotions run really high between them, until they kiss. Neither one realized the other was gay. They were football players...that kind of thing just was NEVER an option...until suddenly it is. They have a single night and then they go their separate ways.

They don't see each other again in person, although they've kept in touch via email and skype, for another six years. The scene opens with Bo stepping out onto the field at the SuperBowl. He plays for New Orleans now and is about to play in the most important game of his life. There are three Marines getting ready to do the honor guard thing on the sideline and one of them is talking trash about him. Suddenly, he realizes it's Dylan....and the book goes on from there.

They have one week. One week together to make up for the last 6 and half years. One week that has to get them through the next year and a half until Dylan's out of the Marines. And Dylan isn't just your normal, heroic Marine. He's a kick butt Recon...special forces dude and about to deploy on a highly dangerous mission.

There were so many little details that just made this book for me. Bo's hair...*gah*...Dylan was always the hair guy and when he joined the Marines, they obviously shaved that off. Bo decided to let his grow for both of them and now his hair is really long. There are so many scenes in the book about that....one that I sobbed over the entire time (even writing this right now, I'm tearing up with how emotional that scene is). The book isn't long, but Mercy Celeste is an amazing author that she gave you those tiny details to show how close these two guys are....and it's NOT about the sex...although they have amazingly hot sex. It's about the two of them together and it's so freaking gorgeous.

Everything about this book was just amazing. Short, to the point, but so filled with story and emotion. I'm still overwhelmed by it. I can guarantee you that I will read it again and again...Yes, it's one of those books.
