Story Overview:
The man she loves left her, but he’s the only one that can protect her.
Sharmila is a witch with a problem. Her magic is waning. And her lack of sex may have something to do with it. Her mother’s solution? Easy. Sharmila needs to get laid. Easier said than done, though, because Shar is still in love with the only man to make her melt, Zahir Darkwrath. Her missing husband. Her demon.
Zahir knows he’s a danger to Shar, so he’s done his best to stay far away. Darkness flows through his being, and when emotions run wild, destruction rages around him. And sex with Shar is definitely wild. Staying away from the woman he loves is the hardest thing he’s ever done, but hurting her would be far worse. So he’s astounded when Shar’s mother hires his company to watch over her.
Evil is heading Shar’s way, and Zahir is the only one who can stop it. To save her, Zahir will need more than control; he’ll need the power of his own darkness–which might be his undoing.

My Review:

This book had a lot going on in a very short amount of time. Zahir is a demon. His wife, Shar, is a witch whose powers are inexplicably waning. They've been separated for five years and Shar has no idea why Zahir left her. Her mother is concerned, both about Shar's waning powers and the fact that she senses that something is stalking Shar. She calls in for help in the form of the security company that Zahir works for. In addition, there's a flirtation between Shar's mother and another warlock in the background. Like I said... a LOT going on and I liked the basis of all of it. It was a wonderfully interwoven least it had the promise of that. Unfortunately, the follow-through wasn't quite to where it needed to be.

Honestly, if this book had another 10,000 words added to it without a single additional scene added in, it would be perfect. All the actions and scenes were there and right, but they needed to go deeper and I would have ADORED this book.

But what did work for it was the erotica aspect of was GOOD! Zahir and Shar are explosive together and that leaps off the page at you. If you are looking for hot erotica, you will enjoy this one...just go into it prepared to fill in a lot of the story with your own imagination.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
