My Review:
I wasn't so sure about this couple as the 3rd book in this series just because we honestly didn't really know them from the other books besides just passing mentions, but I was COMPLETELY WRONG! I loved, loved, LOVED Jake and Michelle's love story. Every little part of it. Their history between the two of them. The history between the team and how Preacher (Michelle's husband) died and Jake's role in that. Everything about this story just tore at my heart and made me fall in love with both of them just a little bit more...especially as more and more of the story was revealed.

Four years ago, Jake and Michelle had a "thing" that just never quite progressed. At issue, Jake was messed up in the head at the time, so instead of following his heart, he pushed Michelle into Preacher's arms....and they decided to get married. Shocked the heck out of Jake....that wasn't really what he thought would happen and his heart never recovered. But unfortunately on their next big mission out, Preacher died, leaving Michelle pregnant. Jake was never able to bring himself to face her again especially since he blames himself for the decision that killed Preacher. Yep, a whole heck of a lot of emotion here. And yay for an author who lets her alpha male show some of that emotion. I LOVE that she had Jake crying at parts in this. I felt like it made the book have such a higher impact.

Michelle's heart was shredded when Jake pushed her into Preacher's arms because not only did Jake reject her, but he wasn't at all nice about how he did it. He literally broke her heart and Preacher put her back together. Then Preacher died and she was never able to be the kind of wife he deserved. Lots of bad feelings all the way around. For Michelle, so much of her emotions when dealing with Jake go back to her parents messed up relationship and how it affected her and Frank. Jake continues to tell her that he loves her, but she doesn't trust that love. There are things in this story that both these characters are holding back that is so key to making this relationship work for them.

Now Snake is back and coming to work for Black Knights, which just happens to be owned by Frank, Michelle's brother. Add to that there is a bounty on all the Knights heads and Frank is  worried that it could spill over to Michelle and her son. He wants to give Jake a chance at setting things right with Michelle so he sets Jake up as her bullet-catcher. I liked that aspect of the story. Usually the older brother is against any of his buddies hooking up with the sister. Frank was on Jake's side for most of this one and I liked that little twist.

I really loved this story and the chemistry between these two characters. When they do get together...oh my! They are scorching hot. Love that! This was most definitely another great installment to this fabulous series!!

And can I just say...Rock & Van?? YES, please!!! I cannot wait for their book!

I received a complementary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Story Overview:
He Never Misses A Target
Jake "the Snake" Sommers earned his SEAL code name by striking quickly and quietly-and with lethal force. That's also how he broke Michelle Carter's heart. It was the only way to keep her safe-from himself. Four long years later, Jake is determined to get a second chance. But to steal back into Michelle's loving arms, Jake is going to have to prove he can take things slow. Real slow...
She Aims To Make Him Beg
Michelle Carter has never forgiven Jake for being so cliché as to "love her and leave her." But when her brother, head of the Black Knights elite ops agency, ticks off the wrong mobster, she must do the unimaginable: place her life in Jake's hands. No matter what they call him, this man is far from cold-blooded. And once he's wrapped around her heat, he'll never let her go...
