Story Overview:
Carter is one of the hottest men ever to walk into Paige Long's coffee shop. The attraction is mutual, and when Carter reveals himself to be a Dom, the submissive in Paige is aroused. Yet she brushes him off—her last relationship was abusive and she's unwilling to get involved with another Dom.
But when Carter returns the next day—in his firefighter uniform—Paige's fantasies really heat up. She can't resist his offer to get to know him over a drink at Mavericks, a local sex club. Their conversation quickly escalates to a session in one of the private rooms, and Paige is both thoroughly satisfied by Carter's skills in domination, and impressed with his selflessness as a lover.
Paige is ready to move on with her life. But can she trust in herself and submit to happiness?

My Review:
This is book #2 in the Long Shot series, about three siblings running a coffee shop. Book #1 was Double Shot and you can see my review of that book, HERE...hint, it was rated an A. This book is about Paige, the oldest of the three.

Hmm, this is a tough book for me to rate. While I enjoyed the book, the BDSM element was a little more hard-core than I am used to...not necessarily in the way that you would think with a BDSM novel. It wasn't too rough or anything like that, but the sub's needs for the pain in the BDSM were a little harsh for my tastes. And honestly, that is the basis for a lot of the conflict in the story. Because Paige needs the pain, that has opened her up to abuse from a former Dom which has made her scared of the lifestyle.  Luckily, her hero is a gorgeous, caring fireman, Carter, who knows exactly how far to push her and has a good feel for what she does need. yum!

This is most definitely erotica, but it has a great story too. Paige hasn't been in a relationship in over three years since she got out of her abusive one. She is scared to trust herself or someone else to know when to draw the line. For her, there is a very fine line between the pain she needs and the pain that goes too far. Carter has a great intuition though and he is the kind of sensitive Dom that she needs. I like how he pushes her into the relationship and forces her out of her comfort zone, because otherwise, she probably would have never gotten involved again.

This has everything good that the first book had...fantastic coffee shop, sexy Adult club, and glimpses of the other characters that were so good from the first book...including Ian and Blue Eyes....I am so excited to read their story because they are next in this series. Yippee!! I cannot wait!!
