My Review:
I am reviewing ONLY the novella in this anthology by Richelle Mead, City of Demons. I plan to read the other novellas eventually, but since right now I am reading the Georgina Kincaid series, this is the only one I was interested in at this point in time. In the timeline of the series, this little novella takes place between books 2 & 3.

Seth & Georgina are away on a long romantic weekend, when Jerome calls Georgina to Los Angeles to take his place on a jury for the murder of a demon by a demon. There are three demons being tried and it is the jury's responsibility to figure out which one of them committed the murder and then that demon will be tortured for the next 500 years. Georgina is the only juror taking the trial seriously. The others are there simply to do the bidding of the demon who can offer the highest bribe. Luis is the judge for the trial and he used to be Georgina's boss. He is really the only other person, besides those being tried, that is also interested in a fair outcome.

Because this is a novella, I am assuming that nothing that happens here will actually affect the flow of the series, but I am so glad that I read this story. I feel like it added a lot to Seth & Georgina's commitment to each other despite the strains that her powers create on their relationship.

Seth is such a stand-up guy. He can't have sex with Georgina and she has given him permission to have sex with others simply to take care of his physical ache. He is faced with that temptation in this book. It also really showed what a truly good person Georgina is. As a succubus, a lot of times she makes the wrong decisions based upon getting caught up in the physicality of the moment. In this book, she is tempted with the ultimate temptation of what she wants most in this world, but is unwilling to sacrifice someone else for that. I really liked the added knowledge about these characters.

Also, it was truly a well-written story. As a novella, a lot of the times I feel that these books are too short, but this was a really good, well-developed story with enough twists and turns that it thoroughly engaged my imagination. If you are reading this series, I highly recommend that you add this novella to the TBR pile too!
