Story Overview:
Makenna James thinks her day can’t get any worse, until she finds herself stuck in a pitch-black elevator with a complete stranger. Distracted by a phone call and juggling too much stuff, the pin-striped accountant caught only a glimpse of a dragon tattoo on his hand before the lights went out.

Caden Grayson is amused when a redhead literally falls at his feet. His amusement turns to panic when the power fails. Despite his piercings, tats, and vicious scar, he’s terrified of the dark and confined spaces. Now, he’s trapped in his own worst nightmare.

To fight fear, they must both reach out and open up. With no preconceived notions based on looks to hold them back, they discover just how much they have in common. In the warming darkness, attraction grows and sparks fly, but will they feel the same when the lights come back on?

My Review:
Wow! What an absolutely incredible little book to read! Read the story overview above for the premise of this incredible book. When Makenna stumbled onto the elevator, dropping things as she basically fell in, it was late Friday evening after an awful day. Neither Caden nor Makenna got a good look at the other person in the elevator before they were enveloped in pitch black for hours. No pre-conceived notions from appearances. They only had each others voices and stories to pass the hours. They begin to get to know each other through a game of twenty questions, then continue to share, and they manage an incredible connection that neither one of them have ever felt with another before. Incredibly at ease with one another. Just perfect and they have never seen each other.

Of course, this is a romance so you know that connection is going to turn romantic which it does and it's just gorgeous. There is so much emotion here. Caden was in an awful traumatic car wreck when he was 14 yo. He was trapped for hours in the wreckage in the dark, and that trauma has left a lot of scars on his psyche...like the inability to handle being trapped in an elevator in the dark. But there are other scars and issues which Makenna slowly uncovers as they get to know each other. It's really gorgeous the way that these two characters come together and truly connect and get to know the "real" person in the dark.

I loved this book. I bought the e-book for my Kindle and saw this morning that it's also available in paperback. I fully plan to buy that version too because I NEED this book on my keeper shelf. It's a short read, but it is so rich in emotion...and even a really good "moral to the story" kind of book. Makenna & Caden are both really rich characters and as they are getting to know each other, you are getting to know them and falling in love with them too. It's really such a beautiful story. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

BoB Haiku:
Two people trapped. Stuck.
Two hearts collide. Soulmates met?
Love found in blindness.
