Story Overview:
For all eternity, only one thing shall separate them--until the Blood Law is avenged...

The coming of the Blood Moon will lead two Lycan packs into war, spur two rival brothers into conflict, and spark an act of vengeance so evil that its effects will be felt for generations.

One woman stands at the center of it all...

As undisputed Alpha, Rafael must choose a life mate to preserve the dominance of his Lycan pack. He never suspected, his mate would be a human, the same wounded, girl-woman he seduces from the brink of death. Falon is a dangerous combination of Lycan and Slayer--beings bred to destroy his kind. Even more, she's a mesmerizing beauty whose sensuality tempts the seasoned warrior to take unnecessary risks. The primal heat between them is irresistible, yet surrendering to it could destroy them both...for a vengeful foe stands ready in the shadows to fulfill what is rightfully his by Blood Law.

My Review:
What an absolutely fabulous book!! Unfortunately, this is a trilogy where it looks like it is going to take all three books for the story to play out. This particular book ended on a HUGE cliffhanger, so if that kind of thing bothers you, you need to wait to read this book until book #2 (Feb 2012) and book #3 (May 2012) come out.

There is an intro into this book that explains how Lucien and Rafael (twins and now enemies) and Falon ended up in this convoluted mess that they are in. There is one element of that explanation that never did come to light in this first book that I foresee casting shockwaves across ALL of the characters in this series. Wow...seriously, this book was so good!!

Falon was raised as an orphan in the foster system. She has vague recollections of her parents, but they are extremely vague. She honestly has no idea where she came from...she only knows that she seems different and has abilities that others don't.

Lucien and Rafael were co-alphas of their Lycan pack until Rafael came home and murdered the woman that Lucien had chosen as his life mate. No one believes that she was the slayer (one who kills Lycan) that Rafael saw her to be. Lucien has claimed Blood Law against Rafael, meaning that when Rafael chooses his mate, Lucien can kill her. The simple solution would be for Rafael to never choose a mate, but until he does, no one from the pack can reproduce so the pack is slowly dying.

When Rafael meets Falon, he is drawn to her and decides that since she is a human, not a Lycan, he has to sacrifice her for the Blood Law...for the good of the pack that has been divided and barren for 14 years. BUT Falon is much more than she seems.

Fabulous, emotional book!!! Lucien & Rafael are twins and the only family that they have left, but Lucien can't forgive Rafael for killing the love of his life. They have moments when you can see the bond that these two share and it's absolutely heartbreaking.

This is also a really hot and sexy book. There were glimpses of what is to come with the trilogy and I cannot wait....seriously HOT! Rafael & Falon were amazing together, but throw Lucien into the mix and wow-- there are some great books to come in this series. I just know it!!!

I have this book sitting on my shelf at home right now. The book is so hot! I had taken it on my trip to NM but of course I didn't get much of any reading done there. LOL. I remember reading another review somewhere about it which is why I picked it up in the first place...the cover is HOT and now I need to read it. At least I have it waiting for me at home right?!?! Great review Christi.

I have been very tempted to try this book because I've read wonderful things about it. But you are the first to warn about the big cliff hanger. So maybe I'll wait until they are all out. Thanks! :)
