Story Overview:

After the murder of a teenage girl, a mysterious man in a black leather jacket was seen lurking near the crime scene. Investigative reporter Tessa Novak has him in her sights as the culprit…

That man was Julian Darcangelo—an undercover FBI agent working with the Denver police. He’s closing in on the trail of a human trafficker and killer. Tessa’s accusations could blow his cover—and he wants her off the investigation.

But just as Tessa has made Julian a target of interest, she is now a target—of the killer. And as they are forced to trust each other, their physical attraction escalates as intensely as the threat from a ruthless murderer who wants to see both of them dead…

My Review:
Okay, something is wrong with me. EVERYone raves about and loves this book... EVERYONE! It has an amazing Goodreads score and tons of 5-star reviews. But, for me, it just didn't do it. About 1/3 of the way through, I was just wanting to rush through it and get it done and I have no idea why.

The story line is fantastic- 2 tortured souls irresistibly drawn to each other in a series of grave and suspenseful circumstances. Bullets flying, people dying, seriously hot sex, a great suspenseful ending... I don't know; I think that my problem is that I personally did not connect with either the hero or the heroine, but esp. the heroine. There were times when she even kind of annoyed me.

Obviously, this is a "me" problem so don't take my word on it- go check out all the goodreads reviews on this book. And maybe for me, it's time to take a tiny I-Team break....at least for a book or two.

(You know, just wondering and thinking aloud here...there seems to be 1-2 of these books a month that I don't really like, but everyone else loves. I am wondering if they happen to fall at the same times as when I am inexplicably annoyed with dh too. hmmmm.....)

hey not every book is for everybody, even ones that every one else loves! I didn't like My Name is Memory and I dare you to find someone else who didn't. Everyone I know--LURVED that book.

Still chuckling! This is what I get for reading your reviews backward! I see book one will be the next review I read...which is the one I added to my TBR list!
