Independent single mother Tamara Briggs wanted to find a new, sexy, no-strings-attached man-just not one as young as NASCAR driver Elec Monroe. But he sure does get her heart racing. And after she’s tricked into a blind date with him, Tamara gives in to her passion. Things screech to a halt, though, when he asks to meet her children. Whatever happened to wham-bam-thank-you ma’am? Suddenly Tamara has to decide how much risk she’s willing to take to experience the power of true love.

My Review:
You know how there are some books where you just can't help falling in love with ther hero? For me, Flat-Out Sexy was one of those books. Elec is simply the perfect hero. He's a sexy Nascar driver in his rookie year. A lot of Nascar drivers are arrogant and cocky- not Elec. He's sensitive and sweet; Not comfortable in the spotlight; Very intuitive to Tamara's feelings; He's great with the kids. Not scared to take what he wants; Totally up-front and honest; He's just an all-around sexy, nice guy.

Tamara is a Nascar widow. Her race-car driving husband died 2 years ago in a crash at Talladega. She has 2 kids aged 7 & 9. She hasn't really dated much since Pete died. She's a sociology professor. She's attractive, but self-conscious of her post-kids, 32 yo body. She has no desire to get involved with another driver. Her kids are her #1 priority.

These are 2 people that are perfectly suited. Their chemistry is sizzling. Their personalities are perfectly in sync, but they have a lot of obstacles to overcome...
*7 year age difference
*long-standing feud between their families
*crazy ex-girlfriend
*Tamara's reluctance to date another Nascar driver
*Tamara's 2 kids that will be heartbroken to love another father figure
*lack of time together
*fear, plain and simple.

Everything about this book/writing was perfect. I really, really loved it. The romance is sweet, sexy and at times really heart-wrenching. You can't help but root for these 2 who are so obviously perfect for each other. There is a great supporting cast of characters that I can't wait to get to know better in the rest of the series. There is humor and love, but most of all- a really great story!

I heart this series. So far (I've only read the first 3 books), this first book is my favorite with the 3rd book coming in second. I can't wait to read books 4 and 5!
